Laura Ashley

With her husband, Bernard Ashley, she manufactured home decorating materials and wallpaper based on 19th century designs. When she had children, she augmented her line with clothing and opened an international chain of boutique stores specializing in wallpapers, furnishing fabrics, and romantic clothing made from natural fabrics.
