George Washington Carver Born: 1864 Birthplace: near Diamond Grove, Mo.
Cosmetic and process of producing same; paint and stain and process of producing the same—When Carver's method of crop rotation produced a surplus of peanuts, sweet potatoes and pecans he devised hundreds of uses for the extra crops, from cooking oil to highway paving material. He also synthesized organic dyes which proved superior to aniline dyes. (1990) Died: 1943
