professional tennis player from the Netherlands who won seven ATP Tour doubles titles and reached 11 finals in his career; was 7-4 in Davis Cup competition from 1983-88; reached a career-high ranking of 72nd in singles in 1988 and 20th in doubles in 1995. He died of injuries sustained in a car accident. Died: Turnhout, Belgium, February 22, 1999
