Formerly known as Burma, Myanmar's cooking includes Indian curries and Chinese stir-fry. In this overwhelmingly Buddhist country, vegetarian cooking is widespread, although many people do eat fish. Ghee, clarified butter from India, is frequently used.

seafood, vegetables, coconuts, bananas, oranges, rice, spices
Popular dishes:
stir-fried green beans; buttered fruit rice
